New Council member

Ian Curtis-Nye was elected to the ACL Council this month after standing unopposed for the vacant seat. He is a partner and divisional manager at Lyons Davidson in Bristol.

 

New deputy costs judges appointed

The Lord Chancellor has appointed five new deputy costs judges to the Senior Courts Costs Office: Erica Bedford (King’s Chambers), Imran Benson (Hailsham Chambers), Paul Joseph (No5 Chambers), Kevin Latham (King’s Chambers) and Andrew Roy (12 KBW).

 

Legal Services Board seeks lawyer member

The Ministry of Justice is recruiting for a non-lay (i.e. lawyer) board member of the Legal Services Board (LSB), the body that oversees the regulation of the legal profession in England and Wales. The role is open to Costs Lawyers. Full details are available on the Public Appointments website.

Members will be paid £15,000 for a commitment of 30 days a year. The appointment is for four years. A webinar about the position can be seen here and, for any questions about the role, please contact the LSB’s board secretary.

The closing date for applications is 7 September.
