As we settle into 2025, future changes in the legal costs sphere are, as ever on the horizon. The retirement of Senior Costs Judge Gordon-Saker marks the end of an era, and the start of new challenges for his successor. The legal sector in general faces a period of uncertainty pending the outcome of consultations started under the previous government, and the methodology for the assessment of hourly rates and the fees of medical reporting agencies are also areas likely to remain under scrutiny.
We are confident that Costs Lawyers will continue to adapt, providing valuable support to help their clients and the wider legal profession navigate these new challenges.
The ACL Conference is one of your best opportunities to consolidate your knowledge of key costs issues which continue to shape the future of our profession, by hearing from leading practitioners and members of the judiciary, participating in specialised breakout sessions, and networking.
